Trail System Master Plan EIR Project Archive

Project Description: The Town of Mammoth Lakes released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Trail System Master Plan (TSMP) - including the Sherwins Area Recreation Plan (SHARP) - on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, and actively solicited public comment. "The release of the DEIR begins a 45-day period for public and agency comment that will end on Friday, September 2 (2011). Completion of the EIR, which was funded by a generous grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, is one of the last steps to adopt the Trail System Master Plan, an important planning document that sets the framework for a comprehensive, world-class trail system in and around Mammoth Lakes. A Final EIR for the project will be completed following the close of the comment period and will be brought forward with the Trail System Master Plan for review and adoption at public hearings in September and October."

Project Status: The Trail System Master Plan, including the Sherwins Area Recreation Plan (SHARP), and the Final EIR were both recommended for adoption by the Planning Commission on September 28, 2011, and adopted by the Town Council on October 11, 2011. Visit the Town's web page for additional information.
