Mammoth Lakes SOS 2009: August 15, Duck Pass

Co-hosted by the High Sierra Striders and Footloose Sports!

Project Description: Thanks to the committment of co-hosts Footloose Sports and the High Sierra Striders, approximately 20 trail-runners and -hikers spent their Saturday morning giving back to the land. Great work was done on the Duck Pass Trail and trailhead area, as well as the Hart Lake/Consolidated Mine zone. Volunteers were fueled by Footloose's generous donation of bagels, cream cheese, juice, and coffee and RE-fueled with a healthy buffet-style lunch.

Duck Pass Trail Team:

  • 20 switchback cuts restored along 1.5 miles of trail to Arrowhead Lake
  • 200 feet of "spiderweb" use trails restored at trailhead

Emerald Lake Trail Team:

  • 400 feet of trail maintenance
  • Rock lining at trailhead

Heart Lake Trail Team:

  • 100 feet of trail maintained
  • signs painted and repaired
  • sign replaced
