MPRR: Mobility Plan Resources Report

Project Description: After the Ranch Road Gate debacle, and before MLTPA was formally organized, local citizens who were to form the core of MLTPA put together a resources report for the benefit of several commissions and members of Town staff who were meeting to discuss the Town's Draft Mobility Plan. Several important MLTPA projects grew directly out of the Mobility Plan Resources Report (MPRR): the MLTPA GIS Inventory Contract (MLTPA GIC); the Public Meeting and Strategic Conference (2006); and, with time, all of the important data resources used in the final draft of the Town of Mammoth Lakes Trail System Master Plan 2008. A key component of the MPRR were site visits to several of Mammoth Lakes' peer resorts during the summer of 2006, documented in the photo galleries below and conducted at the citizens’ own expense.

DELIVERABLES: The Mobility Plan Resources Report (MPRR) is divided into four sections. You can review the entire report as one download (WARNING! 30M download!), or check it out one section at a time:

Part 1: Cover, Introduction, and Objectives
Part 2: Trails and Public Access Inventory
Part 3: Peer Resources
Part 4: Peer Resources Images (NB: For more complete photographic documentation of Mammoth Lakes' peer resorts, check out the five photo gallery links below.)

MLTPA included a DVD with the Mobility Plan Resources Report that contained a wealth of links to other trails and recreation organizations across the country. These links -- and many others -- are available here in the "Other Recreation Resources" page of the Mammoth Trails section of the MLTPA site.

MAPS: This map is a companion piece to Part 2 of the MPRR, illustrating the 100-point trails and public access inventory put together for the MPRR.

PHOTOS: Spend some time looking through these collections of photographs taken by MLTPA while on location at five of Mammoth Lakes' significant North American peer resorts. See what other destination resort communities are doing with their trails, public access, and recreation systems!
