John Wentworth, President/CEO

John has worked in the motion picture industry, where his credits include Co-Producer of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Mulholland Drive. He is an adjunct instructor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA (Fine Arts Graduate Program), and has lived in Mammoth Lakes since July 4, 2000. He is an avid outdoorist.

Jay Deinken, Vice-President

After obtaining a B.S. in physics and mathematics, Jay served as a missile combat crew commander in the United States Air Force. He then obtained a law degree and worked as a patent attorney for 30 years before moving to Mammoth Lakes in 2006, where he serves on the Town's Planning Commission. He and his wife, Noelle, enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, running, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing, and bicycling.

Bill Taylor, Treasurer

Bill is a land-use consultant and a 34-year resident of Mammoth Lakes. He has a B.A. in anthropology from Amherst College and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. After graduating from college he moved to Mammoth and worked at a variety of typical ski-town jobs. In 1978 Bill went to work for the Inyo National Forest in archaeology and land-use administration. He started with the newly incorporated Town of Mammoth Lakes in 1985 as its first planner, eventually becoming Deputy Director of Community Development. Bill has been involved in all aspects of community planning, environmental review, and policy development. He has served on numerous committees and in community organizations including the Mammoth Lakes Swim Team and the Mammoth Lakes Rotary Club. Bill and his wife, Sherry, met in Mammoth and raised their two sons there. Bill thinks that the Eastern Sierra is the best place on the planet and regularly gets out to hike, cross-country ski, downhill ski, and mountain bike.

Will Aldrich, Member

Will brings more than 12 years of web product development leadership experience to the MLTPA team. He is the vice-president of product for TripIt, an online travel startup in San Francisco. Before joining TripIt, Will was the senior director of product for Yahoo!, where he held various product-management leadership roles over a six-year tenure. Prior to Yahoo!, Will co-founded and ran product for vVault (an online storage company that was acquired by Biscom) and spent three years as a developer and product manager at CNET. Will received a B.A. from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He is a former associate Board member of the Mary A. Crocker Trust and is an avid mountain biker and skier. Will's favorite run in the Mammoth area is the Sherwins.

Steven Rose, Member

Steven has nearly 30 years in hospitality and resort operations, including luxury city center, ski, and golf resorts. He recently moved to Mammoth Lakes with his wife, Marcia, to take on the role of general manager at The Westin Monache Resort. Steven received his M.B.A. from the University of Denver in 1999; his history since includes time with the iconic Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colo., Beaver Creek Resort and RockResorts in a long period with Vail Resorts, and Destination Kohler Resorts before returning to the mountains to live in the Eastern Sierra. He has always considered community service a key component to resort success and has served in a variety of voluntary capacities, including numerous homeowners' associations, the Eagle County Planning Commission, the Eagle County Organization of Governmental Entities, Vail Resort's President's Council, the Beaver Creek Culinary Council, and the Eagle County Literacy Project. Steven and Marcia enjoy numerous outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, skiing, paddling, and agility training with their dog, Tele.

Jim Smith, Member

As vice-president and head of Mammoth Mountain real estate, Jim is responsible for the company's development and planning operations. Previously, Jim was vice-president of Katell Properties, a leading commercial-development firm based in Los Angeles. Prior to Katell, he was an associate at AEW Capital Management in Boston and Berkshire Realty Trust, also in Boston. Jim received a B.S. in accounting from Syracuse University, an M.B.A from Southern New Hampshire University, and a master of real estate development from the University of Southern California. He was also an adjunct professor at the School of Policy, Planning, and Development at the University of Southern California from 2001 through 2006. Jim is a member of the Urban Land Institute and USC's Lusk Center for Real Estate Development, and a Board member of Mammoth Lakes Housing and the High Sierra Striders, a non-profit running club in Mammoth Lakes. Residents of Mammoth since 2003, Jim and his wife, Elaine, enjoy skiing, climbing, biking, and fly-fishing.

Joyce Clark Turner, Member

Before moving to Mammoth Lakes with her husband, Sean, and son, Gavin, in 2006, Joyce worked in the public sector for the City of Petaluma, heading the Capital Improvements Programs for Redevelopment and Public Works, and as an engineer in Caltrans design and construction. She has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Missouri at Columbia and is a licensed professional engineer in California. In the private sector, she was executive vice-president of a woman-owned construction-management firm based in the Bay Area with clients throughout California. Today, Joyce works with the Southern California team at HDR Construction Control Corporation, Inc., on public infrastructure construction projects throughout the state. She has a passion for developing exceptional teams to tackle difficult construction projects and for finding sustainable, green, and progressive solutions for her clients. Locally, Joyce also works with Mammoth Brewing Company on growing into new production and pub facilities and is active in the Chamber of Commerce. Beyond her family, beer, and construction, Joyce enjoys sailing, skiing, road biking, hiking, and cooking.
